Gold Coast winger John Olive could miss months of NRL action after suffering complex fractures of his collarbone while in the Junior Kangaroos camp.

Olive will have further scans on the Gold Coast on Friday to confirm the extent of the injury, but the initial prognosis wasn't good after the 19-year-old dived over to score a try in an opposed session against Samoa.

"Its pretty disappointing obviously, I was looking forward to wearing the green and gold jersey but injuries are part of the game so I just have to work hard as I can to get back," Olive said.
