The Titans season from hell continued today, culminating in a 42-0 loss to the New Zealand Warriors at Mt Smart Stadium today. This loss marks the first time in their history that the Titans have been kept scoreless in a game.
An almost unrecognisable side took the field today with the Titans crippled by injury and suspensions. Three run-on Titans were playing out of their usual positions and Paul Carter started off the bench for some reason.
On the plus side though Cody Nelson returned from his gambling ban.
The Warriors had it over us in spades. Gold Coast’s defence almost seemed non-existent at times. An ex-Titan even came back to haunt us in the guise of Dominique Peyroux scoring one of the Warriors seven tries. Shaun Johnson, as well as scoring a try himself, managed to convert all seven too.
Sam Tomkins is proving he was well worth the hype after his signing, walking away with a double.
Greg Bird even got in a bit of a blue with Ngani Laumape and couldn’t even win that.
There’s going to be big changes down the Gold Coast over the off-season: you can feel it in the air. We have talented players, they just need to be in the right positions and given an attacking and defensive structure that suits their style.
