The Titans have gone from the penthouse to the shithouse lately. They were riding high atop the NRL ladder a few weeks ago but injuries, Origin and now a drink driving arrest has absolutely decimated the Titans.
After a stand-out season Paul Carter was last night arrested. It is alleged that Carter was seen driving the wrong way down the road and found to be four times over the legal limit. Compounding these allegations is the fact that Carter is a P-plater.
For this alleged transgression the Titans have stood Carter down indefinitely.
On top of that weirdness Dave Taylor was summoned by the Maroons to replace an injured Corey Parker. Taylor joins Nate Myles and Greg Bird on Origin duties.
And just when you thought things couldn’t get any worse there are rumours that Albert Kelly and Brad Takairangi are dicey starters for Monday night’s clash against the Melbourne Storm. To think I had wild delusions that the Storm would be easy beats because they were seemingly riddled with injuries and Origin duties.
The Titans fall has been brutal, spectacular and embarrassing.
Can the Titans salvage their season?
