There were some so-called NRL soothsayer's out there who said the Titans didn't stand a chance playing the Raiders in the Canberra. Hopefully those people are choking on their words after the Titans walked away with a 24-12 win lastnight.
It was a gruelling match won off the back of our defence and that's where we needed to win it, because the Raiders had more possession than Carl Williams in the early 2000's.
The Titans had to stand staunch against wave after wave of Raiders attack, but co-Captains Nate Myles and Greg Bird led the way with a combined 80 tackles. Bird was even surprisingly deft with the boot, converting 4 goals.
Our hooker's chalked up our first two tries. Beau Falloon and Paul Carter both dived across to score from dummy-half.
Things were getting tense by the 78th minute. The game could have been anyone's.
Thankfully someone must have told Albert Kelly to wake up. So he did. Taking the ball for tear-away runs of 30 meters and 50 meters in the 78th and the 80th minute respectively.
Albert Kelly, once again, was the Titans game saving hero. Is there anything this bloke can't do?? He's an absolute wizard with the ball.
The only negative from the match was Will Zillman limping off in the second half. Hopefully it's nothing serious and we see him back next week against the Cowboys.
Is Albert Kelly destined to be an absolute gem of the Titans crown? Can he steer us toward the finals?
